You will only be contacted on the days that your child(ren) are in school like Monday and Tuesday or Thursday and Friday. In-Person hybrid learners at Ridge will self-certify everyday. Remote learners will not need to self-certify. Self-certification must be done by a parent or guardian, children cannot self-certify.
At 5:45am each day, you will receive a unique link both as a text and email message to the phone numbers and email addresses we have on file in PowerSchool for each child. If you have multiple children within the district, you will receive multiple text and email messages. You only need to click on each link once per child to complete the self-certification process. Parents must respond within the certification window in order for their child to attend In-Person learning for that day. No exceptions can be made.

The email will have the subject – Student Self-Certification Form
You will need to review the following five questions.
Either answering that you agree and your child does not have any of the above conditions or that your child has one or more of the above conditions. You may optionally include your location. Then click on Submit.
Finally your confirmation screen will look like these below. Please print this confirmation or take a screenshot of the page as this confirmation page MUST be shown to bus aides/drivers and staff members at the school entrances before being permitted on the bus or into school. On the confirmation page below the image will always show the CHILD’S NAME, the answer you select like "I AGREE, my child DOES NOT have any of the above conditions" on this DATE and at this TIME.
The district will be deploying the Rave Guardian app to every student’s iPad this week after the remaining iPads are either picked up or deployed to students. Once every student has their district’s iPad, we will send additional information on how to use the iPad for daily self-certification.
Self-certification is an integral piece to being able to offer In-Person instruction and is a daily requirement for In-Person learners. Students who do not self-certify within the certification window will not be allowed to attend school that day. On the third instance of a child not being self-certified, that child will be moved to a remote only schooling option.
Thank you for your help and partnership as we provide our Forest Ridge School District 142 students a premier learning experience! For your convenience, we have created an infographic that summarizes the self-certification process.
